Blimey, has it already been almost a year since I was in the middle of launching my Kickstarter campaign for The Return of the White Animals oracle?!
When I launched the campaign in spring last year, I visited friends in the town where I now live, cute little Radolfzell am Bodensee (back then, I was still living in London).
And the whole campaign stressed me out biiiiiig timmmmeeee. So much so that I wanted to cancel it all shortly after launching it.
Will there be enough people wanting to support it?
What if there aren’t?
Lemme just put an end to this now and myself out of this misery of uncertainty!
Fortunately, I had some wonderful friends who talked sense – and patience and trust – into me!
So I didn’t cancel it. Luckily. Because – spoiler alert – it ended up being a successful campaign.
But when I was still feeling iffy about it, I had another encounter that changed my pressing desire to quit it all and go hide under a rock for a while.
And that encounter was with no one less than a main character from my oracle itself.
As I strolled through the cobbled streets of Radolfzell with my friends Anja and Gabi, we passed a gate in a wall that gave sight to a lovingly landscaped front garden – filled with flowers upon flowers.
And in this garden, there were also several cats.
One of them being completely white.
And of all the cats, guess which one came running straight to me from the back of the garden right up to the gate?
Exactly!
And White Cat threw herself on the floor, rolling around and stretching her paw under the gate to touch me.
(Which felt particularly poignant because I had just read the book “Saving the White Lions” by Linda Tucker, in which she describes a similar moment with a White Lioness, who stretched out her paw under the bars of a cell she was kept in, to touch Linda’s hand. Two very different circumstances, but somewhat similar nonetheless.)
And as White Cat’s paw touched my hand, it also touched my soul.
And I then recalled the message of the White Cat card from my oracle:
“When White Cat shows up for you, you are encouraged to surrender to the flow of life.
Not everything can and wants to be planned, and some of the most beautiful and life-changing moments happen when you least expect them. Live life day by day, and welcome each new experience with curiosity and an open heart. When you walk through life with your heart wide open, you will touch souls, and your soul will be touched in return.
White Cat shows you how wonderful life can be and how magically things can unfold when you let the flow of life carry you from one moment to the next.
Follow White Cat’s lead, and say 'yes' to life. Open your heart, trust yourself, and be courageous. The Universe will reward you with its infinite beauty.”
What else was there to say?
I then knew not to cancel the Kickstarter campaign. The White Animals had spoken.
And a few months later, the oracle was born.
Funnily enough, I have not seen White Cat since that day, even though I walk past that garden regularly.
I hope I’ll bump into her again one day, but I am sure she’ll make herself known again when the time is right.
